Elk hunting with Grandpa Joe

This past week Greg took Ethan on his very first Elk hunt. All the brothers went out, and took turns hunting with their Dad to get his "once in a lifetime Elk". (once in a lifetime even though they hunt every year). Well, it paid off! Joe got his elk last night. We are so excited for Joe, He is so happy. Not bad for an old man 'eh? The kids got up early this morning to go see Grandpa's elk. Here it is...or at least what they could haul out:

Good Job Grandpa!

Goals for Greatness Fundraiser

Greg and I went to the Goals for Greatness fundraiser at LaCaille. We went to represent Heart2Home along with our friends who also were there for Heart2Home. The theme was blast to the past so we sure tried. You were suppossed to dress like you did your senior year at prom.
While we were getting ready, Greg was teasing me that I was going to be the only one not sporting a blast to the past dress. Mind you, I graduated in '99. The fashion then wasn't very different. In fact, not at all. Our friends from Heart2Home had told us what they were wearing and they were going to look 70s and 80s rad! So, as I watched my husband peg his slacks with his high top basketball shoes, his letterman jacket and sporting a hair style that luckily was out of date I felt bummed.... Well don't worry, I wasn't the ONLY one not outdated. So, we drive up to LaCaille, and there was a limo unloading in front of us. Let me tell you how fast Greg unpegged his pants and took off his letterman jacket. Oh yeah, they were all Beautiful. No silly outfits there. They all looked AMAZING! Luckily, our friend Deb, who is president of Soccer Unites Utah and was in charge of this fundraiser was right there and hooked Greg up with a suit coat and tie. Thank you Deb. Later, our friends showed up and yes, they looked awesome!

These girls are so much fun. Wherever they go, it's a party! They ended up tying for Prom Queen and got to dance with Kyle Beckerman. If you know soccer, then you know who Kyle is. I guess He's the shiznit for Real Salt Lake.
Here's Tiffany, Micki and Julie pawing over Kyle as they danced.
This pic is funny. Heart2Home is full of girls and we are pretending I'm jealous. Or am I pretending?

We had a fantastic night out. Dinner at LaCaille and dancing with my honey. What more can I ask for?

Can You Say Salsa?

This is our first year of having a garden. We really wanted a salsa garden so Greg and I planted 6 tomato plants and like 8 dfferent types of peppers and some cilantro. We've been watching them grow all summer long and....drumroll please.....TaDa!!! We are ready to make some Salsa!

My Dad is visiting so he went to the grocery store EARLY this morning for the finishing touches. I seriously think He was more excited than I was. We had so much fun. He kept saying, "Man that smells good!" Yep, it did!!!

The kids were tons of help as you can see: Here's Ethan playing with one of the canning things. He said, "Look, I have a green mustache."
And Ty helped by bringing me every possible bowl I had left in the cupboard. What a good helper. He was completely in the cupboard before this but of course I couldn't get my camera on time.

Mmm.....simmering!

They are so pretty I just want to leave them on my counter forever!

She just told me I could have more if I wanted. So, if you do please let me know. We are going to have so much fun. The tickets will be $8.50 each and are reserved seating so forget the long lines. We did the same thing last year and it was so much fun. If you want some please tell me how much and when. Can't wait to wear my Team Edward shirt!
