A Chicken? What?

This 24th of July was fun fun fun. And, we got a new pet. What? A new pet? Yes, tada! It's a chicken.

Backup. Every year for the 24th we go to Fairview and go to the Derby, the kids rodeo, the parade, go swimming in the creek, go 4 wheeling, etc. This year was no exception except.... at the kids rodeo Ashton caught a chicken. It was bound to happen sometime. So, meet Henlen. She's a very sweet chicken who will never meet a crock pot. Her beak is crooked but Ashton says, "She's beautiful."

This is Ashton with her cousins showing us their new chicken at the farm scramble at the rodeo. Isn't her face awesome?

My nephews also caught animals so we went back to farm with 1 rooster, 1 duck and 1 chicken. Yay!

This creek runs through Greg's parents' property. The kids loved damming up the water to make a swimming hole. Don't Greg's guns look huge in this pic. Yep, that's my muscly man!

We went fishing at Boulder where we caught lots and lots of fish. And, I found out that Ethan LOVES fish. He ate 2 whole fish! Now, if we can just get Daddy to have some, we'd be a fish eatin' family.

The boys went to the Derby. Ethan absolutely loved it. Ethan is modeling his new T-shirt they threw into the stands! Yay for Daddy who caught the lovely tshirt.

Ty loves the 4 wheeler. Grandpa Joe took Ty for a long ride & brought him back like this.

We had so much fun in Fairview. Can't wait til next year. Maybe we'll tell Ashy to go after the calf or maybe the lambs next year.
